The Explorers Club

"Forever"

Anyone jonesin' for a flawless homage to the Beach Boys? Yes, zillions of bands have tried and most fail, but Charleston, SC's the Explorers Club are so pitch-perfect in their harmonies and spot-on bubbly in their spirit that at times hearing their EP is a little scary. Beginning with the drum pattern from "Be My Baby" - like many songs these days - it blooms ever so quickly into a harmonious orgy where the six-piece flaunt their remarkable chops. In all fairness these guys aren't exactly reinventing sliced bread or anything with this paint-by-numbers indie pop, but their ear for replicating a sound that is embedded into so many hearts should be enough to make them a hit with many generations.
