Throughout his career to date, California multi-instrumentalist Chris Cohen has been a backing member in a slew of acts, including Deerhoof, Cryptacize, Haunted Graffiti and Cass McCombs. This fall, he will be going solo, however, for a new album for Captured Tracks.
The record is called Overgrown Path and it will be out on September 25. This marks a change of page for Cohen, whose primary songwriting vehicle was previously the collaborative project Curtains, who were signed to Asthmatic Kitty.
The full details of the solo album are still forthcoming, but it will include the sunny psych pop single "Caller No. 99," which blends squelchy guitars with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments and sweetly pretty melody. Take a listen below via Bandcamp.
