Energy Slime

"Cool Ship II" (video)

Vancouver pop dude Jay Arner and his bandmate and partner-in-crime Jessica Delisle recently teamed up as Energy Slime to deliver jam-packed 13-minute, 10-track, 7-inch single New Dimensional. Now, they've shared some visuals to accompany one of the new bite-sized tunes.

"Cool Ship II" is described by the band as a "shimmering Cyndi Lauper sock-hop," delivering sweet, echoing pop sounds over a bouncy beat of bass and warbling synths. The clip itself is simple enough, with Arner and Delisle making eyes at the camera against a lime green backdrop, though things take an interesting turn with a cameo from an out-of-this-world guest.

According to a recent press release, the project "sprung forth from the duo's moonlight desires to get weird," and this video definitely brings those desires to the forefront. Get your first look at the quirky new video, courtesy of Exclaim.ca, by hitting play below.

As previously mentioned, Energy Slime will celebrate the release with a hometown Vancouver show on November 15 at They Live. Cult Babies are also on the bill, but it will be the last-ever show at the video store/venue. You can get more details here.
