Eminem and Lil Wayne

Live on SNL

This week's episode of Saturday Night Live was the best of the season, with host Jeff Bridges joining Cookie Monster for a Christmas carol, reprising the Dude and giving Captain Beefheart a shoutout at the end of the show, while Andy Samberg and his crew teamed up with Akon for an excellent digital short. Then, there were musical guests Eminem and Lil Wayne, who completely nailed their performances on three songs.

Eminem was the top-billed act for the show, but rather than take on that whiny Rihanna collaboration for his first song, he dropped a rousing, sonically intense version of "No Love" with Lil Wayne. The backing band were so loud that the vocals were nearly inaudible at first, but the song reached a massive climax as both rappers yelled their parts. For the second segment, Eminem performed "Won't Back Down" and promptly left the stage, letting Weezy hop up to spit recent single "6'7" as a welcome surprise.
