Duotang

"Nostalgia's a Vice" (video)

Winnipeg rockers Duotang ended a decade-plus-long hiatus recently with the release of New Occupation, and now they've treated "Nostalgia's a Vice" from that record to a music video.

"The song is from the view of someone poking fun at those who seem to be stuck in the past, either in their tastes in music, or simply obsessed with a past life," according to bassist/vocalist Rod Slaughter. "But then the protagonist realizes they are just the same."

The Jim Agapito-directed video mimics that sentiment, starring Slaughter, his bandmate Sean Allum and their friends as the "curmudgeons" at a Duotang gig. The irony of getting the old band back together isn't lost on them, but at least they're able to poke fun at themselves.

You can leave the curmudgeonly attitude at home and see the band for yourself at the upcoming shows listed below. Right now, though, scroll past the dates and hit play to watch the video premiere of "Nostalgia's a Vice."
