The Districts

"Funeral Beds"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 6, 2013

Recent Fat Possum acquisitions the Districts are stirring up hype behind their impending self-titled label debut by streaming its roots-soaked "Funeral Beds."

The track builds up nicely via the use of hypnotically picked guitar melodies, some twangy slide work and a heartily honked harmonica. As a drum build-up cascades into crashing cymbals, we hear Rob Grote's tobacco-stained pipes cracking under the strain of emotion. You can check out the steadily-rising folk-rock number down below.

The Districts' self-titled EP lands January 28 and will be supported with a quick tour with WHite Denim. You'll find the show info just above the SoundCloud player.
