Dirty Ghosts

"Quicksand Castle"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 23, 2015

Toronto-born, San Francisco-based psych rocker Allyson Baker has revamped her Dirty Ghosts lineup and they're coming back with a new EP and full-length record. But before the Cataract EP officially arrives tomorrow (July 24), Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere of a new cut called "Quicksand Castle."

The track will appear on the aforementioned EP, as well as the upcoming LP Let It Pretend, which is due out this fall. It opens with a blast of fast-paced rock'n'roll, hitting listeners with whizzing guitars, groovy bass lines, pounding percussion and Baker's punk rock drawl. Airy vocal harmonies lighten things up a bit, keeping the angrier elements of the tune in check.

Cataract is available on July 24 through Burger Records, with Let It Pretend to follow later this year on Last Gang. For now, though, hit play below and sink in for your first listen to "Quicksand Castle."
