Fuzzy, dreamy Brooklyn, NY trio the Depreciation Guild are only gearing up to release their second album, but in the age of blog-buzz bandwagons, that makes them veterans in the current crop of hazy, blissed-out pop music.
The band, fronted by Pains of Being Pure at Heart drummer Kurt Feldman, released their stand-out debut, In Her Gentle Jaws, for free in 2008. The album showcased their ability to combine elements of shoegaze and dream pop with aspects of electronic music. It also got us a little obsessed with them.
Now, they've announced the details of their second album. The release is called Spirit Youth and it will be available on May 18 via Kanine Records. Not much else is known about the album yet, but we're getting our thesauruses ready to find more words for "dreamy" when it comes out.
Before the album's release, the band will embark on a North American tour that will see them play Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal as a supporting act for Serena-Maneesh.
