This holiday season, Canadian music fans can get in the festive spirit with Jingle Bell Rock, an annual concert series that will be bringing some notable bands to cities across the country between November and January.
Among the bands participating in the shows are Death From Above 1979, Tokyo Police Club, Phantogram, Mother Mother, Mounties, Bleachers, July Talk, Said the Whale, METZ, the Pack A.D. and more. In various configurations, these artists will be hitting Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton.
While these shows aren't explicitly billed as Christmas-themed, $1 from each ticket will go to a local charity. Additionally, food bank donations are encouraged for attendees of each show, and charities will be on hand to spread their message on-site.
"We are really proud to be part of this series," said Pat Murphy of promoter Union Events in a statement. "Since the inception of Jingle Bell Rock, the events have raised over $150,000 disbursed to local charities like Covenant House (Toronto/Vancouver), Youth Empowerment & Support Services (Edmonton), the Daily Food Bank (Toronto), as well as tens of thousands of canned food stuffs for local food banks across the country."
