Dean Wareham Expands Galaxie 500 Tour, Adds Vancouver Date

Indie heroes Galaxie 500 didn't break up on good terms, and there have been no hints of a reunion since frontman Dean Wareham quit the band back in 1991. That's not likely to change anytime soon, but Galaxie 500 fans will soon have a chance to experience the next best thing: this fall, Wareham will be heading out on a solo tour, playing a set entirely comprised of Galaxie 500 songs. And he's just expanded the tour.

The singer/guitarist decided to embark upon the tour as a way to commemorate the recent reissue of the band's three albums on vinyl. Now, thanks to a string of new North American dates, the outing includes one Canadian stop on November 15 at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret.

The tour, which is being billed as "Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500," finds Wareham backed by the other members of his current band, Dean & Britta: Anthony Lamarca, Matt Sumrow and Wareham's wife Britta Phillips.

This is reportedly the first time since the band's breakup that Wareham has played an entire set of Galaxie 500 songs. See the schedule below.

Wareham and his bandmates will also be playing several separate shows of Dean & Britta material in support of their recently released13 Most Beautiful... Songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests. See those dates over at DeanAndBritta.com.
