David Byrne's New Album Is Apparently Called 'American Utopia' and It's Out in March

David Byrne has been teasing a new solo album for a while now, but with the Talking Heads legend announcing an ambitious tour yesterday (December 13), it seems as if that record is closer than ever. In fact, Reddit sleuths have now discovered that the new album is apparently called American Utopia and due out in March.

As Reddit points out, an Amazon pre-order page has surfaced indicating that Byrne's album is called American Utopia, which, according to the listing, will arrive on March 9 via Nonesuch.

Of course, these sort of Amazon listings are never a sure bet, but March 9 is a Friday (the day albums typically come out), and Byrne is signed to Nonesuch. So it might be a good time to start getting a little excited about the release.

As for that tour, Byrne described it as his "most ambitious" since the Talking Heads shows filmed for the classic Stop Making Sense film. Unfortunately, though, there are no dates in Canada. Nevertheless, you can check out the schedule here.
