Dubstep deliverer Rusko kind of blew a gasket back in March after his Songs got put on the web early, so it's probably for the best that the electronic musician has teamed up with perma-stoned rappers Cypress Hill for a new EP. The fittingly titled Cypress x Rusko comes out through V2/Cooperative Music June 5 as a digital download and physically on July 17.
A press release for the five-song mini-effort states that Cypress x Rusko "shows the full capabilities of two music pioneers combining forces to create yet another raw and unfiltered sound." Newly delivered single "Lez Go," for instance, mashes club-ready arpeggiated synth sounds with B-Real's patented nasally flow. You can check the song out in the newly revealed Travis Barker-assisted video down below.
A sequenced tracklisting has yet to arrive but other uptempo club bumpers are said to include "Roll It, Light It" and "Stay Medicated." Damian Marley also drops by to add some dancehall flavour to "Can't Keep Me Down." Things apparently get a little more hardcore on gunshot-sampling "Shots Go Off," though, which is supposedly in the same vein as Cypress Hill's classic "Cock the Hammer."
While Rusko released Songs this past March, Cypress Hill's last album was 2010's Rise Up.
