It's been a decent chunk of time since New York indie rock act released their sophomore album and Barsuk debut Lenses Alien. Fans have already waited four years for its follow-up, LOSE, so rather hold tight any longer we've arranged a stream of the whole thing here now.
The album's title is a reference to frontman Joseph D'Agostino and the loss he experienced during the album's recording. Specifically, his close friend and collaborator Benjamin High passed away.
In a press release for the album, D'Agostino said that, in addition to the loss of his friend, the album's also "about a sort of nostalgia, a longing for a time when music meant everything to you and your friends, and it seemed like one great rock record could change everyone's life the way it changed yours. It's about being in mourning for your long-held belief that music could literally change the world."
LOSE was produced by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth), and can be streamed in Canada below. The album arrives on August 26 via Barsuk.
Cymbals Eat Guitars also have a long string of U.S. tour dates coming up, and you can see all those here.
