Following last year's Obsidian Spectre, Crosss are fully embracing 2014 with a new single, North American tour and video.
On March 3, Pleasence Records is set to release a new 7-inch featuring the Toronto/Halifax band's blend of doom-sludge and heavy psych-rock on the A-side, with Sackville's Astral Gunk included on the flip.
As you can hear in the SoundCloud player below, Crosss take the A-side with "Spectre," showing something of a lighter side, with reverb-laden vocals and a shimmering '90s alternative hook that wouldn't be out of place on an early Weezer release. Astral Gunk's "Seven," meanwhile, melts the flip.
Along with the new single, you can also now check out the video for Crosss's "Spectre" at the bottom of the page. Created by Halifax art-house director Heather Rappard, the video's spooky, saturated shots of a girl amidst the woods and stars, just out of focus and out of reach, suit the ethereal, mildly wistful song perfectly.
As for that North American tour, it kicks off in Fredericton, NB, on February 29 before heading into the U.S. However, come mid-March, Crosss will be back in Ontario for a string of shows. See the schedule below.
Tour dates:
02/29 Fredericton, NB - Capital
03/01 Boston, MA - Lillypad
03/02 Providence, RI - Monters With Magnets
03/03 Stamford, CT - Seaside Tavern
