Counting Crows Release Their First New Music Since Adam Duritz Shaved Off His Dreadlocks

And it's pretty good!

It's been two years since Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz shaved off his iconic, decades-old dreadlocks, and if you're like me, you've spent those two years worrying that he lost his superpowers as a master of plucky, versatile adult alternative tunes. Fortunately, the Crows are back sans dreads, and they still sound pretty damn good.

The long-running band have announced a new EP called Butter Miracle, Suite One, and it will offer four new tunes from the group. Among them is "Elevator Boots," which you can stream below.

In a press release, the song is described as "a glam look at life on the road in a band, awash in the thrill, the isolation, and the cleansing power of rock and roll." It sounds a lot like Counting Crows.

Listen to "Elevator Boots" below.

Butter Miracle, Suite One, produced by Brian Deck, will arrive on May 21 via BMG

Butter Miracle, Suite One:

1. The Tall Grass
2. Elevator Boots
