Though Chelsea Wolfe will dive deep into the Abyss with her forthcoming album of the same name, the California-based artist has announced she'll also be surfacing on a number of concert stages on an upcoming tour.
Taking place between August and October, the trek begins in Las Vegas but quickly makes its way into Canada for back-to-back nights in Toronto and Montreal. The tour's penultimate show takes place at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on September 30.
Gloomy Colorado alt-country crew Wovenhand will support Wolfe on many of the U.S. dates, but they won't be opening any of the Canadian appearances. You'll find all of the North American tour details down below.
As previously reported, Abyss arrives August 7 through Sargent House. The album was produced by John Congleton (David Byrne, St. Vincent, Cloud Nothings) in Dallas, and has been described by Wolfe as a score to "the hazy afterlife… an inverted thunderstorm… the dark backward… the abyss of time."
Following the recent stream of first single "Iron Moon," Wolfe has now unveiled another number from the album. You can sample the industrial rhythms and haunted vocals of "Carrion Flowers," a song that's said to be "touching on the feeling of revenge for anyone who has unjustly suffered," down below.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Wolfe's Live at Roadburn concert album had been treated to a re-release via Outer Battery Records. You can order the set here.
