Then Winnipeg, MB's Weakerthans present the epic recording of their hometown performance, Live at the Burton Cummings Theatre, while London trio Let's Wrestle knock out expectations with the scrappy ballads, spiky pop punk and spasmic guitars of In the Court of the Wrestling Let's.
English duo Goldfrapp earn the Exclaim! Mark of Excellence this week, jumping in Head First to the '80s-inspired energetic shot of sexy synth disco. Electro avant-gardists Autechre make waves with their tenth and perhaps most impressive album, Oversteps. And She & Him give us Volume Two, a record that's anything but second rate.
Also boasting the Mark of Excellence this week are UK punk rockers Leatherface, with The Stormy Petrel, and Teenanger with Give Me Pink. And for a powerful combination of rage and serenity, Dillinger Escape Plan deliver us Option Paralysis.
