Cellphone's press materials curiously note that the band occupy the "middle ground between Devo and Metallica." If you're curious to hear what that sounds like, then you're in luck, because the Toronto group's album Excellent Condition will be out on November 11 through Telephone Explosion Records.
The album was recorded and mixed by Don Pyle of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet renown. It apparently combines synth-punk influences with thrash metal, and a press release promises "synth drones, broken glass guitar solos, two-tonne riffs and bass wah-wah."
For a taste of this sound, check out the thundering, ominous "Human Rights" below. Also below, watch a brief trailer for the album, which consists of threatening synth noise and performance visuals. That's the artwork above.
Excellent Condition is available to pre-order right here.
