This comes just days after cancelling a Dublin gig and their full Australian itinerary "due to band illness"

In the heat of Tumblr-era nostalgia with Charli XCX and Lorde working it out on the remix and Marina Diamandis teasing a new album, it seemed like the perfect conditions for Catfish and the Bottlemen's comeback. But "Showtime" is no more, apparently: the British indie rockers have quietly cancelled the run of North American tour dates they announced back in May.

Last week, Catfish and the Bottlemen cancelled their first gig in Ireland in five years just minutes before doors "on doctor's orders," subsequently announcing the cancellation of their Australian tour leg "due to band illness."

"The band were really looking forward to these shows and sincerely apologize to everyone for any inconvenience and disappointment," the group said in a statement shared with Aussie ticketholders.

Increasing numbers of ticketholders for the band's North American dates, scheduled to begin next month, have taken to social media to share the event cancellation notification emails they've gotten without explanation and reactions to the news. Catfish and the Bottlemen have yet to address the situation, but all of their concerts on Ticketmaster are listed as cancelled.

There's no word yet on the fate of the additional scheduled shows the outfit have going into next year — including one in London that now happens to fall on the same day as one of the Oasis reunion shows at Wembley Stadium.
