The Cars Announce North American Tour, Play Toronto

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 1, 2011

Considering the Cars' new album comes out in just over a month, it was only a matter a time before they announced some tour dates. And now, the recently reformed band have confirmed they are heading out on tour.

The reunion has steadily been building momentum since the fall. Back in October, the new wavers announced the end of a 23-year period of inactivity with news that they would be recording a new album, which we now know is called Move Like This and will be coming out May 10. We've been giddy about the super synthy pop singles "Blue Tip" and "Sad Song," but neither really let us see what the band looks like these days. We're finally going to get the big reveal next month, though, when the Cars take off on a quick North American trip.

The group kick things off in Seattle on May 10 and wrap up the ten-date trip on May 26 in Boston. They will be hitting up Toronto's Sound Academy on May 20, making for the tour's only Canadian date.

As previously reported, Move Like This will be released via Concord.
