New Pornographers leader A.C. Newman recently released his deeply personal new solo album, Shut Down the Streets, via Matador/Last Gang. Now, he has filmed a live session for La Blogotheque/The A.V. Club.
The 15-minute Hudson River Sessions includes three songs from Shut Down the Streets: "I'm Not Talking," "Encyclopedia of Classic Takedowns" and "There's Money in New Wave." What makes this especially exciting for Newman's fans is that the songwriter's New Pornographers cohort Neko Case appears on backup vocals.
Check out Newman's tour schedule, which includes a pair of Canadian shows for Exclaim!'s 20th anniversary, here.
