Built to Spill's new record There is No Enemy isn't out until tomorrow, but for those of you who can't wait – and haven't downloaded a leaked copy already – the band is streaming the whole damn thing over on their myspace page.
First listen reveals an organic sounding album that, though less fierce than their early work, harkens back to the tight songwriting and innovative guitar fuzz that made records like Keep it Like a Secret the classics that they are. Remarkably, Warner Brothers, their label continues to stick with the band despite them never having reached the commercial heights of contemporaries like Modest Mouse.
Built to Spill are touring the record with stops in both Toronto and Vancouver.
Oct 6 – Toronto, Lee's Palace
Oct 7 – Toronto, Lee's Palace
Nov 18 - Vancouver, Commodore Ballroom
