If the Bug's (aka Kevin Martin) 2010 EP Infected taught us anything, it's that the veteran British electronic musician is an expert when it comes to "super-heavy dub madness," but a collaboration with U.S. ambient folk experimentalist Grouper (aka Liz Harris) suggests he might be headed in a spacier direction.
News of the team-up came courtesy of Martin, who tweeted that the two recently got together to flesh out some new Bug material.
"Spent the last two weeks writing sketches/demos for forthcoming collaboration between me and Grouper for the upcoming Ninja Tune Bug album," he wrote.
Without an album title, release date or potential track names to discuss, there's not much to report just yet. But the fact that Martin's working on a full-length, his first as the Bug since 2008's London Zoo, should be reason enough for fans to celebrate.
