Born Ruffians

Born Ruffians have had a busy summer ahead thanks to the release of their newest LP, Birthmarks, and a string of dates through the North American festival circuit. But before they embark on an upcoming European tour, the Midland, ON natives are heading to the East Coast one last time for a post-Frosh Week performance at Dalhousie University. Expect some rowdiness from the collegiate crowd, and lots of it.

9/13 Halifax, NS - Dalhousie University

Braids

September cover stars Braids continue to tour in support of their second studio album with a slew of performances through the Prairie Provinces and abroad. Don't forget to catch the Calgary electro-pop outfit perform a special hometown set at the Commonwealth Bar & Stage before continuing eastwards on their current North American tour.

9/12 Victoria, BC - Metro Theater
9/14 Calgary, AB - Commonwealth Bar & Stage
9/15 Edmonton, AB - Pawn Shop
9/16 Saskatoon, SK - Amigo's Cantina
9/17 Winnipeg, MB - Union Sound Hall

DJ Shadow

Mix-matching maestro DJ Shadow's All Bases Covered tour has so far been a strictly American affair. But the critically acclaimed beat-maker is breaking away from his stateside shows and travelling north of the border to Toronto for his lone Canadian stop of the year. The visionary disc jockey has been premiering unreleased material while on the road, so don't miss out on this must-see event.

9/17 Toronto, ON - The Hoxton

The Legendary Pink Dots

Long-running experimental rock outfit the Legendary Pink Dots celebrate their more than three decade long career with the Year 33 Tour. Catch the group kick off their month-long road trip alongside psychedelic newcomers Magneticring at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre.

9/17 Vancouver, BC - Rickshaw Theatre

New Forms Festival

Contemporary arts and music festival New Forms returns to Vancouver for its 13th anniversary. Catch the best and brightest from the Canadian and international electronic scene with performances from the likes of Jeff Mills, Dopplereffekt, Kassem Mosse and many more over the four-day festival.

9/12-9/15 Vancouver, BC - Various Venues

Rifflandia

While the summer festival season may be coming to a close, Victoria, BC's Rifflandia is keeping the dream alive, with four days of non-stop music in indoor and outdoor venues across the city. Look out for performances from Big Boi, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Courtney Love, Death From Above 1979, a DJ set from LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, and tons more.

9/12-15 Victoria, BC - Various Locations

Supercrawl

With sets from the likes of Yo La Tengo, Diamond Rings, Chelsea Light Moving, Doldrums, Fucked Up and Passion Pit, it's not like you needed any other incentive to check out Hamilton, ON's fifth annual Supercrawl music and arts festival. Organizers have sweetened the deal with the recent announcement of an electronic side stage featuring Nautiluss and Egyptrixx and an additional headline performance from East Coast rock outfit Wintersleep. Don't miss out on this super awesome (and super free) weekend-long event. The Sadies will also be playing a launch event at This Ain't Hollywood tonight (September 12) to kick things off.

9/13-14 Hamilton, ON - James Street North

Trivium and DevilDriver

American heavy metal magnates Trivium and DevilDriver have been filling the void left by Metallica post-Black Album for quite some time now. But with the recent release of DevilDriver's sixth studio album, Winter Kills, and a new Trivium LP only a few weeks away, there's never been a better time to see the modern day metal vikings in person. Catch the pair as they pass through Western Canada on their current co-headlining tour.

9/16 Calgary, AB - MacEwan Ballroom
9/17 Edmonton, AB - Union Hall
