Boy George On Trial For Allegedly Beating and Imprisoning Escort

A Norwegian escort testified in a London court that Boy George handcuffed him to a bedroom wall and whipped him with a metal chain after accusing him of hacking into the singer's computer.

The testimony came on Monday (November 24), as the Culture Club front-man stands trial for the false imprisonment of 29-year-old Audun Carlsen, who was allegedly attacked and held captive by Boy George (aka George O'Dowd) in the celebrity's east London home in April 2007. Boy George denies the charge.

"George was slapping me and beating me and punching me and screaming things," Carlsen told London's Snaresbrook Crown Court, Associated Press reports.

Carlsen testified the alleged incident took place after he met the singer/DJ online and went to his home for a nude photo shoot, at which time they took cocaine together and Boy George performed a sex act on the escort, BBC News reports.

While no attack took place during the first meeting, the second time the escort went to Boy George's home for a similar shoot, the 47-year-old allegedly accused him of hacking into his home computer. Then, with the help of another man, Boy George held down then beat Carlsen and proceeded to handcuff him to a hook on a bedroom wall, the escort told the court.

Carlsen said he escaped by unscrewing the hook and dashing for the door. "I took a bit of time getting the door open and he had a metal chain that he was hitting me with," AP quotes Carlsen as saying.

In addition to the testimony, the court was shown photos of Carlsen's head and arms, which had red welts on them due to Boy George's alleged attack.

The trial is set to resume later this week.
