Bon Iver's 2011 indie landmark Bon Iver, Bon Iver turned 10 in June, and Justin Vernon has some plans to celebrate it.
A newly announced vinyl and CD reissue will arrive on January 14 via Jagjaguwar, and will include songs from the original record plus five tracks recorded by Vernon and Sean Carey during their October 2011 AIR Studios session. During that session, they played Bon Iver's "Hinnom, TX," "Wash." and "Beth/Rest," as well as Blood Banks' "Babys" and a cover of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me."
The physical release also includes an all-white inversion of the original cover art, as well as a matching white LP and an essay from Phoebe Bridgers, who calls the album "massive, sprawling, unbelievably complex."
The band have also announced a pair of performances at YouTube Theatre in Inglewood, CA, on October 22 and 23. A statement from the band reads:
After nearly two years without live music from the band, the anniversary shows will memorialize Bon Iver's joyful return to touring. As is the band's hallmark, their live performances will offer audiences a quiet reflection on the past while revisiting the seminal Bon Iver, Bon Iver a decade later; moments for sincere gratitude for and celebration of community and togetherness; and an opportunity for the healing to begin as they work towards a brighter future.
