Boards of Canada haven't released a proper album since 2005's The Campfire Headphase, meaning that the revered Scottish electronic duo's many fans are itching for new material. Well, the pair just might be ending their silence soon, as rumours suggest that they have a new LP on the way.
BBC Radio 6 Music host Peter Serafinowicz (yes, the actor who voiced Darth Maul in Star Wars) said this in regards to a new Boards of Canada album [via 2020k/FACT]:
"I'm gonna play some Board of Canada now. I'm a bit of a Boards of Canada evangelist. They're my favourite band, I think. Maybe them and the Beatles. But, they are a band, again, a bit like the Fall. It's like once you get into them, or rather, once something clicks you just wanna hear everything they've released... They've got a new album coming out soon and I think it's gonna be a double album and I'm so excited, I really am-to hear their new one."
Okay, it's super speculative at this point, as neither Boards of Canada nor their label Warp has confirmed that any new album is in the works. So you may want to file this one under the "rumour" pile, or at least for now.
