Blinker the Star have been busy since returning with We Draw Lines last year. Earlier in 2013, they dropped the album Songs from Laniakea Beach, and following a recent stand-alone single, they have revisited that most recent full-length with a video for "The River."
The song is a jangling psych-pop number. Blinker the Star main man Jordon Zadorozny explained in a statement, "When director Brock Vincion Sharp asked me if there was anything specific I wanted to do with this video, I told him I'd always wanted to be Tom Baker's 4th Doctor from Doctor Who. So with that I donned my ex-wife's scarf and a jacket found at Value Village and stood in front of the green screen in Pembroke, ON, while Brock shot and put together the rest of the video in Murfreesboro, TN. Not being the most visually oriented person, I can't say I'm sure what exactly is going on here, but I'm told no animals or humans were hurt in its making."
Check it out below. Songs from Laniakea Beach is out through Nile River Records, and the single mix of "The River" is available by donation here.
