Birdman and Rick Ross

'The H' (mixtape)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 23, 2013

Rick Ross may currently be plotting out his Mastermind LP, but the prolific MMG head is diverting his attention momentarily to drop a reasonably ancient set of unreleased tracks he did with Birdman. Titled The H: The Lost Album Vol. 1, the freelease went up for download today (May 23).

Apparently the tracks were recorded back in 2008, but for whatever reason, they'd been kept under lock and key until today. The new mixtape preserves 11 of the tracks Birdman and Ross worked on in the studio at the time, but that Vol. 1 tag makes it seem like there's still more to come from the pair.

As for this set, it has them slinging bars together on tracks like the soul-rollin' "Why" and the chimes-shimmering summer ridin' track "Sun Come Up." The duo also brought Mack Maine, Gudda and Kevin Rudolf into the studio for some guest appearances.
