We haven't heard much from bombastic Brit outfit the Big Pink since they lost a member back in 2013, but now they're preparing their first new release since 2012's Future This. Ahead of a 2016 EP, they have shared the song "Hightimes."
The song is a soaring synth-pop anthem that sounds within the project's usual wheelhouse, as a bouncy drum machine groove anchors darkly spacious guitar strums and harmony-filled vocal hooks. Although the title carries weed-friendly implications at first glance, its lyric context actually refers to both happy times and the idiom "it's about high time."
Hear the song below. This will appear on the EP Empire Underground.
