It's about damn time. After years of hinting and a recent trial rollout, streaming giant Spotify has officially launched in Canada.
As of today (September 30), the service is available in the Great White North on mobile, tablet and desktop. The app is free, and users can upgrade to Spotify Premium for $10 per month; this offers high-quality audio without adds, plus the ability to download and listen to content offline.
"Spotify is launching in Canada with a comprehensive catalogue featuring the best local music from every genre, region and generation," said Spotify's chief content officer Ken Parks in a statement. "This is a Spotify that has been tailor made for Canadian music fans."
The "tailor made" Canadian experience includes lots of music from here at home, including plenty of Quebecois selections.
Canada is the 58th country worldwide to get Spotify. Go here to see what you've been missing all these years.
