'Charlotte' (EP stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 8, 2013

Fredericton, NB's the Belle Comedians are releasing their Charlotte EP on Monday (November 11), and prior to that, the entire five-song collection is available to stream at Exclaim.ca.

The EP spans folk, rock and atmospheric art pop, with opener "Althea" beginning as a folk ballad before incorporating dramatic electric riffs. Elsewhere on the short collection, "Rosy" sports sparse and bouncy syncopations, "Margaret" is anchored by hypnotically downtempo grooves, and "Louise" is a soft acoustic mediation.

The album was recorded at the Sonic Temple in Halifax, NS, with production handled by Digory Smallz (Young Liars, Oh No! Yoko). Scroll past the band's upcoming tour dates to listen.
