Last year, Beat Market released a reworked version of their 2012 album Red Magic. This time, however, they're moving onto entirely new pastures with the album Sun Machine. The album arrives on September 18, and it can be heard in full ahead of time here at Exclaim!
A press release describes the Montreal duo's sound as "raw vintage techno meeting classic disco-romantic futuristic tones." Sure enough, Sun Machine is an upbeat collection filled with thumping beats and twinkling synths, with the pulsing rhythms balanced by a sense of instrumental melody and textural spaciousness. "Oz" gives the thumping soundscape a funky strut, while "Mariane" is warmer and more expansive. For the most part, however, this is all about party-starting bangers.
