Bat for Lashes Lifts Veil on 'The Bride'

Following work with her Sexwitch project in 2015 and the release of romantic single "I Do" earlier this year, Natasha Khan has revealed the details behind her next effort as Bat for Lashes. Titled The Bride, Khan's fourth studio record is set to arrive this summer.

Produced by Khan alongside collaborators Dan Carey, Head, Simone Felice and Ben Christophers, the record was reportedly inspired by a short film which Khan wrote and directed herself, also titled I Do. The film will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York this April.

A press release reveals that the record tells "the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration."

Such darkness is apparent when hearing the new track that accompanied the record's announcement, "In God's House," which can be heard below.

Ahead of the record's release, Khan will perform The Bride in its entirety at a series of performances held in churches, to which attendees are encouraged to dress up in formal attire. You can find the short list of dates below.
