Gloomy Toronto/Halifax duo Baby Cages have just premiered a video for their track "Dark Arts," but it more closely resembles a painting than a typical music video.
The clip for this shadowy rock dirge places the duo inside of some elaborately disconcerting sets. These include plastic fruits, barely disguised nudity, crusted-on white face paint and deadpan facial expressions. There are even a few picture frames, reinforcing how much this is staged like a series of a painted portraits.
The video was directed by Heather Rappard and features clothing by fashion designer Justin Lees.
