Next year, up-and-coming indie R&B singer Autre Ne Veut (aka Arthur Ashin) will issue his sophomore set, Anxiety, and damned if the new hospital-bound video for previously teased album track "Counting" doesn't fit the mood of the title.
The clip for the synthy slow jam finds Ashin and rapper Mykki Blanco cast as a couple of concerned nurses taking care of a seemingly terminal elderly patient, and has both musicians torn up by the situation. While the pair run through their regular work routine, from changing an IV drip to prepping bed sheets, they both steal away some time to spit or sing at the sorrow of seeing the woman in the oxygen mask fading away.
"For me the 'Counting' video is about memory; how when you want to hold on to a person, you try to remember every detail about them, no matter how insignificant," director David Riley said in a statement. Check it out for yourself below.
Anxiety hits retailers February 26 through Software Recording Co.
