Although it's been 20 years since alt-rock icons Mazzy Star released their seminal makeout staple "Fade Into You," it appears a whole new group of artists have recently rediscovered the mid-'90s jam.
We've already heard soft-spoken folkie Ben Harper's rendition for the recent Starbucks Sweetheart compilation, and now the Strokes' bassist Nikolai Fraiture and synth-minded Brooklyn-based trio Au Revoir Simone are getting in on the fun. Listen to their cover of "Fade Into You" at the bottom of the page.
According to Rolling Stone, the song was recorded last February at New York's Downtown Studios and produced by Fraiture, who originally came up with the cover after hearing Au Revoir Simone perform the song live on KEXP.
Although both acts are fans of one another, Fraiture was quick to note that this collaboration was strictly a one-off gig.
