Attack in Black's Spencer Burton to Release Debut EP as Grey Kingdom

When Spencer Burton isn't jamming with Welland, ON's Attack in Black, he is performing solo as Grey Kingdom. And while he's yet to officially release any recordings under his new moniker, that will change on August 31 when he drops his self-titled debut EP via Dine Alone Records.

Recorded in his basement with love and care and in a matter of days, the release features four tracks. Via a press release, here is a bit of what Burton has to say about the record:

The songs are about things that most songs are about. Love, I guess, or failed love, or successful love. But these are all things that everyone says… I can tell you that I'm unhappy with the songs, just like every artist says, always striving for something better. Or I can tell you that I'm happy with the songs and that they are the best songs in the world. That wouldn't be me though (although I am prone to lying). I'm also prone to story-telling, or so I've been told. I would rather entertain with the spoken word and the comfort of conversation than with the actual "spilling of heart" that comes along with the singing of most songs.

Grey Kingdom has an upcoming gig on September 11 in Attack in Black's hometown of Welland, and that's the tracklist down below.

Grey Kingdom:

1. "Love is Fast (The Tragedy of Kait Hegarty)"
2. "Paintbrush Soul"
3. "I'll Say Nothing"
4. "Haunted"
