Artists Earn $7.1 Million from Friday Bandcamp Sales
May 1 numbers eclipsed a previous record set in April
Bandcamp announced that the new figure eclipses the previous tally of $4.3 million USD — which was the largest sales day ever — from the site's first revenue waiver in April by a clean $2.8 million USD.
Last month, Bandcamp announced plans to waive its monthly revenue shares on June 5 and July 3, for sales made from midnight to midnight PT each day.
Update on last Friday's campaign: Fans paid artists $7.1 million in just 24 hours ($2.8m more than March 20th). Thank you for supporting artists impacted by Covid-19, and mark your calendars for the next #BandcampFriday on June 5th! https://t.co/hPhgm7WBR4— bandcamp (@Bandcamp) May 4, 2020
