Architect

'Mine' Vinyl Bonus Tracks

BY Alan RantaPublished Oct 2, 2013

Daniel Myer is getting ready to drop Mine, his sixth full-length under the name Architect, in Canada on October 15 via Toronto's Artoffact Records. As we await that date, you can listen to three bonus tracks that are exclusive to the double-LP vinyl release. These cuts are no throwaways, fully in line with the shift in direction the esteemed German producer has taken with his newest album.

Working with the likes of producer-composer Ben Lukas Boysen (Hecq), famed engineer Paul Kendall (Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode) and Hungarian singer Emese Arvai-Illes (Black Nail Cabaret), Mine tones down the rough, industrial bass lines heard throughout 2010's Consume Adapt Create in favour of a more composed yet ambitious approach. The results are more downtempo and atmospheric, while retaining Myer's sense of drama and menace.

The original cut of the album was released digitally in Europe in mid-September, care of the influential Hymen Records, and fans can stream the whole thing through the label's Bandcamp page. In Canada, the Artoffact Records' pressing of album will include these bonus tracks on white or black vinyl, and you can pre-order the release here.
