Archers of Loaf Launch Reissue Campaign with 'Icky Mettle' Re-Release

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 3, 2011

It looks as if the Archers of Loaf reunion is hitting full steam. First, the celebrated North Carolina indie rockers got back together for a reunion gig, then they announced a whack of tour dates. Now, a massive reissue campaign has just been unveiled.

Merge Records has revealed plans to remaster all four of the troupe's albums with bonus goods to spare. First up will be the outfit's 1993 debut, Icky Mettle, with the revamped set coming out August 2.

The special edition will be remastered by Bob Weston (Shellac) and will also be packaged with the entire Archers of Loaf vs. The Greatest of All Time EP, as well as other B-sides and rarities. One such cut, "What Did You Expect?", from an out-of-print seven-inch, can be downloaded for free here.

Each redo -- including 1995's Vee Vee, 1996's All the Nation's Airports and 1998's White Trash Heroes -- will be issued on CD, digital download and limited blue vinyl.

Pre-orders for Icky Mettle include an exclusive video from their first reunion gig earlier this year.

While no Canadian dates have been announced, the group do have a number of shows lined up. Check out the details below.
