Arcade Fire's Tim Kingsbury Launches Sam Patch Project

Since Arcade Fire wrapped up their Reflektor tour cycle, Will Butler has been promoting his solo album while frontman Win Butler has popped up occasionally as DJ Windows 98. Now, bassist Tim Kingsbury has become the latest band member to embark on his own project, as he's set to make his debut under the name Sam Patch.

Arcade Fire Tube reports that this is a solo project, although Kingsbury won't be entirely unaccompanied. Rather, he'll be joined by songwriter Basia Bulat and Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara.

This group will perform at Montreal's Passovah festival at Brasserie Beaubien on August 27. Tickets are available here; the gig also features the Muscadettes and Michael Feuerstack.

That's the only Sam Patch gig Kingsbury currently has booked, and it remains to be seen whether there is any recorded material in the works.
