At long last, Nordic pop princess Annie is giving us some firm release details concerning the mess that is her long-awaited and repeatedly delayed Don't Stop album. Well, to be honest, she hasn't provided a set-in-stone due date for the album itself but rather the new single "Anthonio," which is due out May 4 in Europe and may or may not appear on the final version of Don't Stop.
As we previously reported, "Anthonio" is coming via Richard X's new Pleasure Masters imprint and is produced by Mr. X and co-written by Hannah Robinson. Along with the original version, there are remixes by Designer Drugs, Berlin Breakdown and Fred Falke, and they're all being released on twelve-inch and digitally. We haven't heard all of "Anthonio" yet but there's a brief snippet over here on Pleasure Masters' MySpace page. Annie apparently has another single on the way called "My Love Is Better," which will come courtesy of her Totally label and is set for release in July, with remixes by Justin Robertson and Emperor Machine.
As for the Don't Stop album itself, it's expected to be released sometime this summer. In this blog post, Annie says she will announce a release date "soon" - "yep yep yep" - and that she really likes the new new Whitest Boy Alive record, among other things. Also, we know that the record won't come out on Annie's old label home of Island and may or may not be spread out over two separate albums.
