As we previously reported, and continue to keep a close eye on, Annie's second album, Don't Stop, is currently in limbo following her departure from Island late last year. But that hasn't stopped the Norwegian pop star from truckin', as she's busy recording even more material while she figures out just how to get her sophomore effort out to the public. Talk about a "difficult second album."
New single "Anthonio" is set for release via its producer Richard X's newly minted Pleasure Masters label. So new is the song that it wasn't included on the leaked version of Don't Stop, which circulated online around the time of its then expected release in 2008. And I'm not sure how well it would fit in with Xenomania's dominance on Don't Stop, considering "Anthonio" sounds more like her old roommate Skatebård is on the boards for this crescendo-heavy, quixotic bit of bubblegum techno.
Here's hoping this is a sign of what's to come on that double album, if it ever falls off that tall shelf its sitting on.
