Alice in Chains, Deftones and Mastodon Announce Blackdiamondskye Tour Dates

BY Greg PrattPublished Apr 29, 2010

What is sure to be the most interesting and diverse heavy-music-related triple bill of the summer was announced today (April 29): reunited grunge heroes Alice in Chains are hitting the road with alt-metal trailblazers Deftones and extreme prog metal champs Mastodon for dates that, so far, include a bunch of U.S. stops, as well as a couple of Canadian shows.

The tour, being called the Blackdiamondskye tour, after the bands' most recent albums, starts September 16 in Chicago and finds the bands swinging through Vancouver and Toronto.

Tickets for the Toronto show go on sale May 20; for the Vancouver show, May 15. Head here for ticket info.

Alice in Chains are touring in support of last year's surprisingly good comeback disc, Black Gives Way to Blue. Deftones are set to release their new album, Diamond Eyes, on May 4, and Mastodon are still on the road in support of 2009's quite awesome Crack the Skye.
