After revisiting a prior EP for a music video, Canadian-American songwriter Alexandra Stewart is now pressing ahead with a new single, "I Grow."
The song begins as a speciously sombre piano ballad, and the arrangements dramatically ebbs and flows with periodic swells of cinematic guitars and drums before eventually drifting off in a post-rock-inspired haze.
Hear the song below, and also scroll past Stewart's tour dates to check out a performance video filmed by Wood & Wires at the Great Hall in Toronto. It was filmed after an all-night drive following a show in Montreal, and Stewart explains, "We poured every last ounce of energy into this stripped-down version of 'I Grow.' We were rough around the edges but felt very at home."
Tour dates:
04/27 Brooklyn, NY - Brooklyn Bowl (School Night!) *
05/27 Brooklyn, NY - Knitting Factory ^
* with Germans, Jessica Childress
^ with Cassandra Jenkins
