Alex Calder Gives 'Strange Dreams' Physical Release Through Captured Tracks

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 14, 2014

After giving up the goods online earlier this spring, lo-fi dream pop performer Alex Calder is set to issue physical copies of his recent Strange Dreams album in the new year.

Captured Tracks will have the IRL edition out on January 20. The album's 11 songs are described in a press release as a series of "acid-induced pop sequences" utilizing "whirling guitars, sparkling textures" and "timeless melodies." You'll find a stream of the title cut beneath the tracklisting.

When the album first arrive online last May, Calder had told Exclaim! that Strange Dreams had "been sitting on my hard-drive for a long time now" and was unsure at the time when a physical release would arrive as he was "between labels."

Pre-orders are up now, with a download of his first Captured Tracks release, Time, being offered up pro bono. The iTunes edition also adds a handful of demos. You'll get more info on the online bundle over here.
