Aldous Harding Announces New Album 'Warm Chris,' Shares New Song

"Lawn" is the first taste of the new record, arriving March 25

Aldous Harding has announced a new album called Warm Chris, arriving March 25 on 4AD. Just as she did on 2019's Designer, Harding recorded Warm Chris with alt-rock icon and PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish

"Listening back, it sounds to me like there's something completely new happening with my voice. The vocals are tiny. I won't try to speak about sound too much, because it's here, and I don't want to ruin or create a surprise. It reminds me personally/musically of a large horse trying to keep up with a train," Harding said in an interview with BBC Radio 6's Lauren Laverne that accompanied the album's announcement.

You can get a taste of what Harding might mean by "large horse trying to keep up with a train" with lead single "Lawn," which comes with a black-and-white video co-directed by Harding and Martin Sagadin.

"This video is pretty luxurious for me, but that's what I saw when I shut my eyes and said 'Show me,' that sort of thing. So that's what we made," Harding said about the video. "Turns out it was just the thing. Music's wonderful that way.

Harding has also announced a 2022 tour that'll see her perform in Toronto and Montreal this June.
