Melodic hardcore mainstays 7 Seconds recently announced they had signed on with Rise Records to produce their first LP since 2005's Take it Back, Take it On, Take it Over!, but first they will issue a two-song 7-inch.
The group's "My Aim Is You"/"Slogan on a Shirt" single drops October 1, and will be pressed as a one-sided 7-inch with an etched B-side. Interpunk is currently taking pre-orders for an exclusive orange vinyl version being pressed in a limited run of 300.
The tracks were recorded last month at a Sacramento recording studio, and while neither song from the session has popped up just yet, you can catch a quick rehearsal clip of "My Aim is You" down below.
Uploaded to singer Kevin Seconds' YouTube page, the video for the speedy cut also reveals a lyric sheet, which features the opening lines "Something's wrong, I cannot shake / How it feels this time / Brace myself, is this the big one? / Is this the finish line?"
As previously reported, the band's longtime lineup of Seconds, bassist Steve Youth, drummer Troy Mowat and guitarist Bob Adams plan to record 13 new songs for the upcoming, to-be-detailed LP.
"It's been nine long years since we've recorded a new album so there's a great deal of urgency in them, with just the right mixture of both fast and mid-tempo tunes for people to sink their teeth into," Seconds had previously hinted in a statement.
Also on the horizon from the band and Rise are a series of re-releases, a deluxe vinyl box set, and more, though details have yet to be delivered in full.
