Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Tei Shi, the Beaches, Snotty Nose Rez Kids

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Oct 7, 2022

With the revelation of Taylor Swift's Midnights tracklist including a duet with Lana Del Rey, it's a great day for annoying people like us! But what's more, if TS x LDR is woke (which is definitely a questionable statement, given the latter), you can level up to bespoke with the CanCamp collaboration of the century between Carly Rae Jepsen and Rufus Wainwright. (And remember, Jepsen's album release date is October 21, too!)

Elsewhere, Tei Shi has a "BAD PREMONITION," the Beaches find their people and Snotty Nose Rez Kids continue setting trends. It's a "Peachy World" for Blair Lee and Super Duty Tough Work make their "First Strike" for Next Door Records, while Dan Mangan is asking the big questions on "All Roads."

Oh yeah, it's kind of a huge day for album releases today too — namely, with Alvvays making their triumphant return (Blue Rev). There's also a debut from Dawn to Dawn (Postcards from the Sun to the Moon), and other brand-new LPs from the likes of Counterparts (A Eulogy for Those Still Here), Dan Snaith's Daphni and Shabason & Krgovich.

Leave the Easter eggs aside for the time being and enjoy a whole CanCon cornucopia with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
